GREAT BEER
WELCOME TO BARRELHOUSE COUNTRY
Founded in 2013 by co-owners Jason Carvalho and Kevin Nickell, along with longtime friend Chris Vaughn, BarrelHouse Brewing Co. began with a simple mission: bringing together Good People, Good Times, and Great Beer. What started as a small operation in Carvalho’s garage has quickly grown into the largest American family-owned craft brewery in San Luis Obispo County. “We take immense pride in being a family-owned business,” says Jason Carvalho, owner of BarrelHouse Brewing Co. “In a craft beer landscape dominated by sellouts and mergers, we stand tall, retaining our independence and staying true to our mission. Our people are passionate about what we do, and we’re just getting started.”

GREAT BEER
WE BREW OUR BEER FOR THE PEOPLE, NOT JUDGES.
Our teams approach to brewing lends to unique, balanced beers that can be enjoyed by all. People often ask why we don’t enter our beer in competitions. You won’t find our beers in any competitions because we brew beers that we like to drink. Many of our beers don’t fit within BJCP beer style guidelines and we don’t care. If someone tells us that our blonde is too hoppy, we say “you're welcome.” If someone says that we should enter our beer in competitions, we say “just because you have a nice car, doesn’t mean you need to take it to car shows.” Here’s to Good People, Good Times and Great Beers!
